As blog authors and webmasters, we usually encounter some hiccups in resizing embedded YouTube and Vimeo videos, as well as pictures to fit our posts. You will need to note the correct ratio of the video and compute the desired length and width. While this step is pretty straightforward, there is also a much quicker way to get this done.

Enter GetRatio. This tool automatically provides the correct dimensions based on the resolution you set. To use the tool, just enter the ratio of the video or image and type in the desired width. Then what you get is a matrix of different sizes for common resolutions as well as the correct dimensions for your preferred resolution.
GetRatio also displays the inverted ratios for easy reference. Finally, you can just enter getratio.com / “width” / resolution (ex. http://getratio.com/1000/16×9) to quickly access the results.
