Firesay: Voice Action Commands for Your Firefox Browser

Thanks to speech recognition you can execute many computer tasks through your voice. One avenue that was perhaps uncovered by voice commands was web browsing. There are many actions involved in browsing especially and handling all of them through voice could be a difficult task. But the Firesay Firefox add-on accomplishes exactly that while keeping everything simple for the user.

You can use Firesay to control your Firefox browsing experience through voice commands. For example, if you want to visit Facebook, simply open Firefox and speak into the microphone “Go to Facebook”.  A new tab will open in the foreground that will take you to Facebook. If you want the new tab to open in the background, the voice command is “Multitask Facebook”.

Search commands are also supported. For example, “Search Google Asteroids” will open up Google’s search results for the word “Asteroids”.

Firesay does not require any set up; after installation it is ready to go. All you need is to set up your Windows’ speech recognition so your voice is accurately understood by the computer.
