When most people are learning about historical topics, they prefer to watch a movie about it rather than spend a lot of time reading different books. Here to help connect those events and relevant films is a service called FilmStory.

FilmStory is a free to use web service that helps you learn about the past through films. This highly useful site lets you click on a country on the world map; then films made about the significant historical events in that country are displayed. Alternatively you can choose to select countries where the films were produced.

Clicking on a film in the results shows detailed information about it including era, regions, subject, type, description, and themes of films.

You can choose to view a specific type of film by selecting Features Film, Documentary, or Mini-Series on the site.
