    Well thought, efficient, an impressive database. I’d love to find a similar search engine dedicated to major software Web sites (Snapfiles, MajorGeeks, BetaNews etc.) ; must be out there somewhere!

    Well, you can create one using Google Co Op. I used it to create custom search engine for HowTo sites.

    When I have to share a file with my mates, i usually use http://www.files-4-all.com .
    No search, no nothing, just upload, get an ID and give the id to my mates, so they can see my file.
