FeelHome: Access Your Computer From Anywhere For Free

Ever get to work and realize a file you needed is still on your desktop at home? You could set up a home server, complete with FTP, port forwarding and a static IP. Or if you don’t have enough free time to handle all that, you could simply install FeelHome.

This application – for Linux, Mac and Windows – allows you to access your computer from anywhere free, with no complications. Simply run the program, create an account and connect to your computer from anywhere via a web browser: simply go to Nuxinov.com and enter your user name and password.

Unlike similar services, such as Dropbox, your data is not stored on a FeelHome server. Instead, this service creates a link between your data and a web interface. According to FeelHome’s security information, your personal password is encrypted, meaning FeelHome’s administrators never have access to your personal data. So consider this service both convenient and safe.

Just as a warning: when I tried this service out in March 2010 it was quite slow, probably owing to a level of interest higher than the service’s servers could handle. Be patient; this service is worth it.
