EasyPrompter: Web Based & Free Teleprompter Software

If you have ever been curious about how news readers remember so much, you must have stumbled upon the fact that they use a teleprompter. A teleprompter allows you to read stuff off it so you don’t have to memorize anything. With the help of an online and free teleprompter software called EasyPrompter, you can create one right in your browser window.

To start, click on Start a prompter and add the text you want. You can adjust the font size, the starting speed, highlight or capitalize text and even display time elapsed. Once you are done typing, launch the prompter and read like a news reader does. While reading, you can pause the prompter, forward or rewind it, slow it down, make it faster or change the font size.

    Hello, this is Mike Drob – I’m the creator of EasyPrompter. Thanks for posting this review. I’d like to add a few key features that separates this product from others:
    1 – Mirror font – this allows you to use this software with a real (or DIY) teleprompter setup using a mirror. The big advantage here is that the font was created by me for this product and supports pretty much every character set imaginable.

    2 – Offline mode – There are a lot of times when during a production, you won’t have an internet connection. This feature (which, as far as I know) is not available from any other online teleprompter software, will solve that problem by letting you download a self-contained HTML file with full prompter functionality.

    3 – Pop-out controls – this is, again, a very useful feature for a production environment and a DIY teleprompter setup. This allows you to take the control bar (play, stop, change speed, etc) and undock it from the main web page. You can then put the teleprompter window on a separate monitor (where the reading happens) and control it from your main one (or vice versa)
