Sayabit is a nice file sharing service which lets you upload files and share them on sites like Twitter and Facebook. It can host images, documents, PDFs, eExcel files & PowerPoint presentations in unlimited capacity. For each file it creates a short URL (ex – http://sayabit.com/LV9llB ) which redirects to a landing page if its an image and downloads directly for other kinds of files.

A unique thing about this service is that it allows you to password protect your shared files. You can also access viewing stats and monitor Twitter conversations happening around your links. It offers a browser bookmarklet and sidebar tool to help you access your Sayabit account information instantly.

Media sharing tools are still a growing trend in this world of social media. The ability to organize and share media to whomever, whenever, and wherever will always be a valuable thing to the masses. To add files to one of your columns simply click on the ‘Post’ button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Files are shared using “My Friends” & “My Groups” panels that located at the right and left hand sides of the screen. You can share your files with individual friends, or gather your friends into groups and then share with multiple people at once. Once you’ve organized everyone into separate groups files can be shared by dragging & dropping them from timeline onto particular group’s icon.

A while ago we profiled MonitorTest, an online tool to fix monitor display problems online. ScreenFix is another such tool. The site provides you with five separate tests such as gamma checker, phasing checker, brightness checker, flicker fixer and dead pixel fixer. All you need to do is choose the test you want to run and click on provided link.

Gamma checker: lets you check gamma level of your monitor, if gamma levels are poor you could be missing some details on images and games you play.
Phasing checker: Lets you view how bad phasing has got on your monitor. The test will show you an simple image, if this image appears phase (blured) then you may have poor clock settings.
Brightness checker: Lets you check the brightness levels on your monitor. If you have incorrect brightness on your monitor it could be showing you the wrong colors.
Flicker fixer: This test helps you fix flickering screen, it will show you a simple pattern and if it is flickering use auto-config button on your monitor. It shoul fix the problem.
Dead pixel fixer: This test lets you fix stuck and dead pixels on your screen. Just start the test on full screen mode and leave it for about a hour.

FilePhile is a P2P service with a desktop client that makes sending large files to friends on a regular basis really easy. There are many rapidshare search engines available, for example Rapidshare1 and Totme, which we’ve already written about. However, Crawl Rapidshare is different and claims to be the first ‘ realtime ‘ rapidshare crawler search engine. It runs a script which checks if the links displayed in the search results are valid anymore and point to real files. There’s a check links validity box just below the search bar which when checked returns results which contain working links.

As you can see in the above screenshot, it also displays the file size of the file to which the links point to respectively. This is certainly a useful tool for rapidshare users.

NomaDesk offers a simple and secure way to backup personal files online, securely share files with colleagues and most importantly syn files and folders between multiple computers. The latter one is in particularly useful letting you automatically sync files between up to 5 computers.

The setup process is quick and easy. First go ahead and download the Nomadesk desktop client (you will need Windows 2000, XP or Vista to run NomaDesk). While installing the client you will be also asked to create the Nomadesk user account.

Once you have finished setting it up, you should see two new NomaDesk drives in your ‘My Computer’ folder. One for private/personal files (Personal Fileserver) and one for shared files (Public Fileserver).

Personal Fileserver

Whatever files you put/drag into your personal drive will be automatically strored in your NomaDesk account online. One really cool feature that comes with it is the synchronization with your other PCs. For instance, if you add an image file to your NomaDesk drive on one of your PCs it will be automatically sent to ‘Personal Drive’ on all your other PCs that have Nomadesk installed.

Public Fileserver

This one is for sharing files with others. You can invite others to view and read files stored on your public drive. They won’t be able to make any changes o files, only view them.

There is also a something called Team Fileserver which enables users not only to share files with others but also collaborate on them. The people you invite will be able both view and edit the files. This and a couple of other features aren’t available to free account users.

Every file you put into your NomaDesk drives are also stored online. You can securely access and manage those files from any computer or even mobile phone with internet connection. See screenshot below.

Shrinkfile is an online file zipper utility for those who don’t have WinZip or WinRaR installed and need to compress a big file and send it across to someone. The file can be uploaded to Shrinkfile and it hosts the file on its servers for 1 week and generates a static URL corresponding to that file. The file can be downloaded from their servers in .zip format.

Shrinkfile supports its site through ads and the ads could seem annoying because they are all over the upload box. In fact the upload box is barely visible unless you take your mouse pointer on it.

Except for this demerit, Shrinkfile is a good tool for easy compression of big files.
