When it comes to publishing feeds on Twitter, people usually mention TwitterFeed. However, there is one application that seems to be more efficient, smoother and feature-rich. Meet DlvrIt. Instead of setting individual feeds to post to a Twitter account, you can create a group and automatically publish rss feeds to Twitter or Facebook.

DlvrIt also lets you do the same thing with Facebook. You can set filters to include/exclude certain words and set update settings such as pull frequency and maximum number of posts. Another thing that DlvrIt does better than TwitterFeed is the statistics. You can see them for any time period and even see advanced trends for each of your posts. RSS feeds are extremely useful for getting the latest updates for your favorite website or blog. We usually read our feed from our RSS readers or e-mail. RSS.im is a web app that connects your RSS feed to your instant messaging clients so you can receive rss feeds updates in your IM window.

To subscribe to RSS feeds using this service, just enter feed that you would like to follow or paste its URL in the RSS.IM website. Then input your IM username and select your client. RSS.IM currently supports XMPP/Jabber and Google Talk. The app will add you up and send you a verification code that you need to enter to confirm your feed subscription.

To manage your feed subscriptions, send “LIST” to view the status of your subscription, “STOP” to stop all the notifications, and “START” to activate all previously stopped notifications. Additionally , you can also stop and reactivate a particular domain by sending “STOP ” and “START ” respectively.

ToRSS is a new online service that converts incoming email to RSS feed and allows you to read messages on your feedreader. There is no registration required, and setting up process is really simple. Just fill in provided fields with required information and click on the “Generate” button. Once the feed is generated, grab it and subscribe to it in your favorite feedreader.

ToRSS can be used in two ways:

When I tried to use FeedBeater myself, I found that the service couldn’t handle all types of URL as it claims. For example, FeedBeater could beat Techmeme’s URL but it couldn’t beat Wimkhan’s URL, URL of my personal wordpress blog.

Yes, as the title says, Bloglovin is a very simple RSS feed reader, especially for those who don’t want to go into the complexities of a feed reader like tagging, organizing and all. The site lets you create a simple list of blogs which you want to follow and get notified when one of these blogs publishes a new post. When you click on the post, it shows you the original post in a new browser tab instead of showing the feed.

Hence if you are a geek or even tech savvy, Bloglovin is not for you. It’s for the rest of the crowd who aren’t into web tools and would prefer a simple solution to read their favorite blogs and websites and get notified when they are updated.

Finally, a secure web application that allows you to receive and read emails in your favorite feed reader. You can set access to unlimited number of email accounts and easily receive both plain and html messages as RSS feeds.

The application is simple to set up but requires some familiarity with things like IMAP and POP. Once you have signed for an account you will need to provide MailOnFeed with your email username, password and IMAP protocol details to your email account. Afterwards MailOnFeed will generate a feed which you can subscribe to in your reader.
