MessageSling is a free online service that lets you replace the standard voicemail system on your cell phone with an online alternative. Using MessageSling you can manage, store and access your voicemail messages from pretty much any mobile phone (with or without internet) or computer.

You can store as many messages as you like and for as long as you like. Moreover there is an opion to setup customized greeting messages, voice to text conversion, contact manager etc.

How does it work?

Sign-up for an account and add your mobile number.
Follow simple steps to instruct your carrier to forward missed calls to MessageSling.
All missed calls will be redirected and stored on MessageSling.
Next, it will notify you about voicemail via SMS.
Access and listen to voicemail from movile phone or PC.

AbbyMe allows you to call anywhere in the US ~~(and dozens of other countries)~~ and deliver your message. Type in your message, enter the phone number and let it make the call and read it out. It doesn’t seem to work 100%, but still fun to play with. What can you do with AbbyMe? Send someone a funky voice message, make a prank call, schedule a birthday reminder message to friends, send a group message invitng everyone to the party etc.

A while ago we had profiled Twitxr, a service that lets you post images to your Twitter feed. Images are great but how about voice messages. With Twitsay you are able to do just that: send voice messages from your mobile phone to your Twitter friends. Messages can be up to 10 seconds long and recorded from any phone, both landline and mobile phones.

Before you can get started, all you need to do is create the Twitsay account. For this you’ll need your twitter username and password, and the phone number that you will be calling from. Depending on your location there are four different numbers you can use to call Twitsay:

From United States call +1 646 912 7676
From United Kingdom call +44 845 867 6679
From Germany call +49 180 1020 650 681
From Austria call +43 720 702 580
More countries coming soon.

Once you leave the message it will appear on your Twitter account. Both you and your followers will be able to listen to it.

Keep in mind that while the Twitsay service is absolutely free, you may be charged by your services provider (for making a call) at standard local rates.

So how do you set it up? Simply complete the sign-up and you will be allocated a 10-digit Seattle phone number where people can send faxes or leave you voicemail messages. So as long as you’re fine with a Seattle area code, it’s a great free answering machine and fax-to-email service.
