Google Buzz, the new Twitter rival Google recently built into Gmail, is less than a month old and there is already an application database: BuzzAware. Here you’ll find tools for use with Google Buzz, from ones that can show you stats related to your Buzz activity to search engines for checking out what’s active on the burgeoning social media site.

Here you’ll also find plugins for WordPress and other blog systems, desktop clients for posting to Buzz outside of Gmail and even ways to set up everything you post in Buzz to be automatically posted on Twitter.

The selection isn’t that great right now, but look for it to increase exponentially as Buzz continues to grow and more tools intended for use with the network are developed.

Fotopedia is a collaborative photo encyclopedia. It’s based on a crowdsourcing model, where anyone can share their photos in relevant topic categories. Call it a Wikipedia for Images. While on Wikipedia, pages consist mostly of text and links, on Fotopedia, every topic is a separate photo gallery. Top images within each topic are voted up by users online.

It already has more 150,000 photos covering over 4300 encyclopedia pages. Each page includes a short text description from Wikipedia and links to related photo galleries. Anyone can share their pictures in related topic pages, nominate relevant photos and vote on the best images within each topic.

Whenever someone opens up the Task Manager on their Windows computer, they see a mass of processes. The confusing part is that all the processes have weird names and though most of the running processes are safe, some of the processes may be viruses or spyware. TaskList is a very handy resource that can help you to identify processes in task manager and whether or not it’s safe to delete or keep them.

Just type in the name of the process you’re wondering about, and TaskList should present you with a description of the file, where it came from, and some general information about how safe it is. Though it may not be 100% accurate, it’s still a very reliable source to see what a process does. A word of caution though: TaskList does seem to link to a program called Easy SpyRemover, which is a known rogue software. So, just use TaskList as a resource and use a tool other than Easy SpyRemover to get rid of a virus if you find one.
