Got an Android phone or simply just want to know which apps are being installed by Android users? Locle: Share Your Location without GPS

Locle is a new web cum cellphone application that lets you share your location with friends and family without the need for GPS. They just need to login and check where you are by typing in your name or number. You can invite your friends not registered to Locle by typing in their number or email address. Locle is free to download and can be used on both computer and mobile phone.

Locle allows you select the friends with whom you want to share your location. It also lets you update your location manually or disable it in case you do not want to be found. If you use Facebook, it lets you retrieve your friend list.

Loopt: See Where Your Friends Are From iPhone or Mobile

Not so long ago we told you about DropCard – a website where you could create a virtual business card and then share it with others. rmbrME is another such service targeted at a business user. It allows you create a virtual business card (with your contact details) and then instantly share it with anyone you need via text messaging. BuddyUpdates: Keep Up with your AIM Friends’ Status Updates

BuddyUpdates is a cool service from AOL which lets you stay up to date with your AIM buddies’ status updates in various other social networking sites like twitter, delicious, Facebook, MySpace and many other sites. It covers almost all the main social media sharing networks.

When you visit the website it allows you to download a plugin for your AIM messenger which further facilitates the process of checking your friends’ updates within your AIM chat window. The updates appear as alerts in your chat window and you can read them instantly or at a later time.

We have seen such features in multi-protocol IM clients like Pidgin and Digsby but this time it has been introduced by AOL itself and hence AIM fans need not rely on third party products or log on to other sharing sites again and again to check their friends updates.

Slandr : Twitter Client for your Mobile Phone

Everyone who ever tried using the mobile version of Twitter website (m.twitter.com) will agree that it lacks features and needs to be improved. For instance you are not able to read replies from there. The good thing though, there is an excellent alternative to it. Slandr is a mobile twitter client that lets you use Twitter from mobile phone as you would on your PC. It gives you pretty much every Twitter feature there is. Simply enter your Twitter details and you’re in. So next time you’re out on the move, give it a try.

Slandr Features:

Read replies and direct messages.
Search through all recent Twitter postings (powered by Summize).
Edit your location and view the locations of the friends.

For iPhone users there is something else though. If you’re on an iPhone then you should try Hahlo, which is basically an iPhone alternative to Slandr.

Twitsay : Send Voice Messages to Twitter

A while ago we had profiled Twitxr, a service that lets you post images to your Twitter feed. Images are great but how about voice messages. With Twitsay you are able to do just that: send voice messages from your mobile phone to your Twitter friends. Messages can be up to 10 seconds long and recorded from any phone, both landline and mobile phones.

Before you can get started, all you need to do is create the Twitsay account. For this you’ll need your twitter username and password, and the phone number that you will be calling from. Depending on your location there are four different numbers you can use to call Twitsay:

Once you leave the message it will appear on your Twitter account. Both you and your followers will be able to listen to it.
