All of us have been in situations where we miss our bus or train stop because we fell asleep or were too engrossed in our music or book. TravAlert is an app that saves you from missing your stop by setting an alarm specific to your destination. Once you download the app for your iPhone, Android or BlackBerry, you can enter your destination and specify how many minutes/miles prior to the destination you want the alarm to go off.

The alarm can be a vibration, a ring or your favorite song from your iTunes library. All the destinations you enter can be saved so next time you don’t have to type them in again. The app continuously displays how far away you are from your destination and gives you a chance to stop the alarm before it goes off.

TypeLink: Web Based Wiki Notepad For Your iOS Devices

Today’s smart-devices let us perform a variety of functions. One of the most useful of these functions is the ability to take down notes wherever we are. In case you are looking for a note-taking application for your iOS smart-device, check out a wiki notepad tool called TypeLink.

TypeLink is a wonderful cloud-based note-taking wiki application. The app works with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad running iOS 3.1.3 or later. The app stores your notes online so that you can visit them from a desktop web browser to view and edit. The information you enter either through the app or through the browser is automatically synced. Through the app you can create notes and use their URLs to interlink your notes.

TypeLink automatically recognizes URLs you type; it also adds colors to differentiate URLs from ordinary text. These links can then be directly opened in the browser.

Other cool features of the app include using your notes’ URLs to share them with friends and using text files to import and export notes.

TypeLink’s setup file is sized at only 0.5MB. It is currently offering free unlimited accounts but only for a limited time.

Simplenote: A Simple Online Note Taking Utility With iPhone Support

You will find many note-taking applications on the Internet. But very few of them provide a successful blend of simplicity, user-friendliness, and functionality. Thankfully Simplenote is one of those few applications.

Simplenote is a simple online note taking utility. It is completely free and offers a number of useful and simple features. After you create an account with the service, you will get a panel where you can type up your notes and save them. The first line of the note will be its title; you can start writing the actual note after that.

If you want you can add a tag or category to the note using the bar second from the top.

In the left pane you can rearrange your notes by dragging them. Notes can be filtered by searching for the text they contain. The left pane is also where you can display the notes of a particular category or tab. The tags can be a great help in organizing notes and separating the to-do lists from other note entries.

Simplenote can also be used via its iOS application that is available from the App Store for free.

On the site, you will find links to various 3^rd party programs that include support for Simplenote.

Every one of us has done this. We parked our car in a big parking lot or ramp and then completely forgot where it was. To save yourself from the pain of searching for your own car, here is a little tool called CarParkingPlace. Once you open this web app on your mobile phone’s browser, you can save your parking location along with specific latitude and longitude information.

Remindd is a simple email and text message reminder service using which you can schedule free email and SMS reminders to yourself or someone you know.
