Comeks is a cool and nifty comics creator application which allows you to create comics on your cellphone. You can download the app and then use it for visual SMS or for creating nice mobile comics. It lets you add speech bubbles, add-on stickers, comic strips and other effects to the pictures you’ve taken from your cellphone camera and then send it them as MMS. You may also share your strips on sites like Facebook, Twitter or Flickr directly from your phone.

Here is fun service for mobile phone users. Using Beema you can create talking 3D avatars and then download them to your phone. All it takes is one phone call to a toll-free number (US only).

Here is how it works. First you need to sign up for a free account and enter your phone number and service provider. Next select the avatar that you want to use for your character. Once you have selected the default avatar, dial the provided toll-free number and leave your voice message. Afterwards Beema will send you a text message with the download link to your talking avatar video. You can check out a couple of sample videos below.

Dilbert.com that is well known to many as the website for daily comic strips by Scott Adams has relaunched and turned into a community focused around comic strips. Users are now able to “edit” an original Dilbert comic by adding their own punch lines. Each comic can have several communty-contributed strips forming a comic list. Pretty cool idea.

DailyLit is a free service that lets you follow-up on your favorite books by email (PC, mobile, etc.). On a daily basis DailyLit delivers a small excerpt from the book of your choice. One excerpt per day, till the book is finished. It takes around 5 minuntes to read each excerpt. If you feel like reading more you can request next excerpt by clicking ’send next’ button at the end of the email.

… I am currently reading Dracula, which has 187 installments and I am receiving installments on weekdays, i.e. 5 days/week. So at most it will take me 187/5 = 37 weeks. But when I am on the train or waiting, I often read more than one installment, so I usually wind up reading about 10 installments/week. This means I will finish Dracula in about 19 weeks or 5 months. If that seems long to you, try something shorter!
