Living in an online and digital world means that we are fed too many reminders, to-do lists and tasks, and when this overwhelms us, we choose to ignore it and move on. Reminders should be fun, visual, and friendly. Cronote is one kind of e-mail and SMS app that does just that.

Cronote works by allowing the user to schedule e-mail or SMS reminders. From the dashboard you can add contacts, groups, and more. You can also import your contacts from Gmail and Facebook.

Cronote reminders are visualized with a button. These buttons provide enough visual cues to make it stand out; bringing a spark to the receiver while making sure they understand the reminder. Cronote also makes it fun for the user to remember stuff like movies they need to watch, music events they need to go to, and health advocacies they should be aware of.

This app can also be used to increase your website conversion rate by adding remind buttons to your product pages, and landing pages. In the same way that Amazon uses wishlists, The Remind button will help customers be notified in the future if they are interested in your product but are not ready to buy yet. This provides a more streamlined experience to customers.

The Email Game is a useful web application which can change how we read and reply to emails. It transforms the traditional email system into an addictive game where you get points for reading and replying to emails. The service is currently compatible with Gmail and Google Apps accounts only. If you want to use it with other email providers, you can sign up for a Professional or Enterprise plan which provides Outlook/Exchange support.

Once installed, you must give the application authorization to access your Gmail account. Then it will redirect you to Emailga.me where it will open unread emails from your inbox one by one. Your task is to read and respond to it within 90 seconds. You can either reply to the email, skip it, archive, delete or boomerang it (boomerang archives the email and brings it back after an allotted time defined by the user).

If you complete the task before the timer is zero, you get points. If you want to stop the game, you can click on the pause button in the top left corner and close the tab/window. One thing which I don’t like about the application is that it automatically adds an email signature about the Email Game.

The service offers Professional and Enterprise plans starting from $10/month with more exciting features.

Features:

Free and easy to use.

Works with Gmail and Google Apps account

Read and respond to emails in a productive manner

Offers professional and enterprise plans

Sometimes when you are in a hurry and on the go, you do not want to be bothered by unimportant emails on your phone. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if the new email you have just received is essential or not so you have to open it first to find out.

Labelert is an Android app that allows you to change the LED colors of your phone using the labels in your Gmail account. It also lets you set the notification sounds, vibration settings, and LED flash interval for each label so that it will instantly give you an idea of what the new mail is about without opening it.

Would you not want to track your emails? It would be a great way to determine when somebody had opened your email and were still not replying. There are numerous web services that let you do this in different ways. But one of the most effective ones is “Email Oracle.”

Email Oracle is a free web tool that comes as an extension for web browsers Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. The plug-in then adds a “Send and Track” dashboard to your Gmail interface. You can use this dashboard to add an optional image to your outgoing emails. When the recipient views this image, this is reported to your Email Oracle account thereby indicating that the email was opened. Since this involves the recipient’s privacy, the recipient can click on the image and opt out of being tracked by Email Oracle. The service’s dashboard also lets you view a complete history of un-replied emails.

The free account of the site lets you track up to 20 emails per month; the paid accounts let you track more emails and add smaller sized images to your emails.

Update: The service has just announced (27/12/2010), that its closing by end of jan 2011

Features:

A user friendly website.

Lets you track your emails.

Helps you determine whether or not your email was opened.

Works with Firefox, Safari, and Chrome.
