BuyLater: Get Price or Status Change Alerts for Amazon Items

BuyLater is a Firefox extension that can monitor your favorite Amazon listings for price or status changes and alert you by email or Twitter. Say you found something on Amazon but the item is out of stock or just too expensive, using BuyLater you can add it to the “watch list” and get notified when its price/status changes.

How does it work ?

  • 1. Download and install BuyLater extension.
  • 2. Enter the email address where you want to receive the alerts.
  • 3. If you want to be alerted via Twitter then go to twitter.com/buylater and click “Follow”.
  • 4. Next time you come accross an Amazon product you want to watch just click on “Buy this Later” button.

Additional Features:

  • Unlimited: Watch as many items as you like.
  • Get alerts on your email or Twitter account (which can be forwarded to your cell phone, email, or IM).
  • Currently available to Firefox and Flock users only.
  • Works only on Amazon.com
  • Manage your “watch-list” online: Add and remove product listings.

    Thanks for featuring my app! A couple of quick notes:

    1. I added support for Amazon.ca and Amazon.co.uk last week, I’m working on BestBuy.com right now – what would folks like to see after that?

    2. I’ve been thinking about writing a plugin for IE – is it worth it? (I’ve done them before, they’re a bit of a pain.)

    3. I bought buylatr.com last week, going to move the site over there soon, but I’ll have to redo the logo and take out the ‘e’.

    4. Upfront disclosure – the outbound links have my affiliate code in them, so amazon might (someday) pay me a referral fee. It doesn’t cost the users anything, but I like to be upfront about that.
