Make sure to park/book a domain if you like and must have it. A day’s delay could cost you in terms of that lost domain name. There is someone observing the trends and searches not essentially at bust-a-name. Don’t believe me? Well, then try it.
I agree, if you find a good domain make sure to park it. Domain business is extremely competitive so there is no doubt that someone monitors these searches.
If you are concerned about someone listening on the requests, you can view bustaname through https://www.bustaname.com/ (notice it is https not http) This goes through a secure connection. I can assure bustaname has never and will never register domains that our users search for (its not our business). Also, bustaname is able to generate income via affiliate commissions, so why would we want to jeopardize a good site with shameful practices.
If you have a domain that you think has been registered “out from under you”, please let me know (see the contact page on bustaname, or post a comment) I see this from time to time, and often what happened is that the domain had recently dropped (you can check domain history on domaintools.com) So you weren’t the only person trying to re-register it.
