BurnURL: Url Shortening Combined With Social Sharing

BurnUrl is another url shortening service recently launched in the market and as you would expect, it does have something unique which could differentiate itself from the other players in this field. And that unique thing is social media sharing.

The shortened url when clicked takes you to the original page and also displays a toolbar on the top which has the options to share it on sites like Twitter, Facebook, Digg and other such social sites. You could also rate the site and see the number of hits the shortened url has received.

As you can see in the screenshot below, it generates a direct link, HTML code and the web code for forums when you shorten the url.

It also offers a bookmarklet to help you quickly shorten, or as they say, ” burn the url “. Overall, this certainly could be very useful to those who love to spread content easily around the web.
