Submit your Web Application or Service to MakeUseOf Directory

At the moment there are about 20-25 submission requests per day but we are only able to profile somewhere between 3-5 services. So as you can see there are lots of applications left uncovered. Hopefully we can accomodate more apps in the future.

If you would like to submit your application to MakeUseOf Directory, there are 3 different ways to do it. Please note, MakeUseOf.com only accepts web/mobile applications that are free or come with a decent free account option (no exceptions). We don’t accept any adult or dating services.

1. Quick Submission (FREE !)

Simply tell us about your service using the form below. All you need to do is send us the link and 1-2 lines about what your product/service does. This won’t cost you anything but due to growing number of daily submissions we can’t guarantee the inclusion either. Unless your service offers something unique there is about a 10% chance that it will be featured.

2. “Do-It-Yourself” Submission (FREE !)

This would require some of your time but can considerably increase your inclusion chances. Basically, here we ask you to write service description yourself and send it to us by email. We prefer following article format but you’re free to do it in any way you like it. The only thing you need to be careful about is that you write description yourself and not simply copy ‘n paste the information that’s already on the website. And most importantly, make sure to keep it simple and easy to follow.

1. Descritpion : 1-2 paragraphs about what service does and why users should use it.
2. Screenshot : Please include at least one 500-550 px wide screenshot.
3. Feature List : List all service features.

Again, you don’t have to follow this format. As long as you mention important features and include the screenshot you’re free to do it in any way you like it.

3. FastTrack Submission ($100)

Finally we offer FastTrack inclusion. That’s the fastest way to get featured. Please note, this money won’t guarantee your inclusion but simply our fee for reviewing your inclusion request within 24 hours. To get featured on MakeUseOf.com it will still have to pass our usual inclusion requirements, i.e. it should be useful, it should be a web-based or mobile application, and should be free (or come with a decent free account option). All you need to do is send us the link and transfer $ 100 (via PayPal) to mochoev@gmail.com. If for some reason we decide not to feature your application, your funds will be refunded.

Benefits of being featured in MUO Directory

(1) Once you application in MUO directory, depending on the assigned category and tags, it will be accessible from at least 3/4 locations. Since we sort applications chronologically it may remain among top category/listings for several weeks.

(2) Your application will be viewed by thousands of MUO Directory subscribers within 24 hours. You can see latest directory subscriber count below.



(3) Within 3 days of inclusion we will also feature your service on MakeUseOf.com homepage in our most popular post series ‘Cool Websites and Tools’. To get an idea on how it will look like check out Cool Websites and Tools (edition #131). This means your application will be viewed by all MakeUseOf subscribers (see below) within 24 hours. It’s a lot of targeted traffic and can often result in your website being featured on del.icio.us homepage, StumbleUpon and in some cases even on Digg homepage.



(4) Last but not the least, there is a sidebar. All directory submission are linked from MakeUseOf.com sidebar and remain there for 24-48 hours.
