Why does my new Windows computer lock up after one hour idle time?

When I leave my new computer alone for more then 1 hour, it locks up. Mouse won’t move, keyboard locks up, and then I have to do a hard reboot. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    What operating system are you running? Is it a laptop or a desktop? These are links with information about systems freezing.
