Why is there a black leak in my PSP screen and how can I fix it?

I have a PSP 3000 which was not used for quite some time. When I checked it last night there was some black substance leaking inside the screen. The glass is intact, no problem there. I can switch on the device and am able to navigate the menus.

What is the cause of this blackout? How much will it cost in Chennai, India to fix this problem?

A new screen isnĀ“t that expensive. I think I paid 40 Euro including the right tools to open the PSP.

It sounds like the liquid crystals are bleeding into the rest of your screen. Something broke inside your LCD display, so it will need to be replaced soon or else the rest of the screen may turn black. You could try places like this http://bigfix.in/index.php?id_product=14&controller=product to see how much it costs to replace the screen.
