IDM is not working properly. When I download an online video then an error appears. Please solve my problem.

This is the error: No such host is known. The name is not an official hostname or alias or it cannot be found in the database(s) being queried.

    This problem also irritate,actually this problem is with your firewall .If you have any antivirus like i have KASPERSKY.So ,if you have kaspersky like i have then jus go to the settings, then go to application control ,and then select applications ,you will seee alist of aaplications jus go to the uhighly restricted or restricted tab and you may find idm them righ cilck it and change the category into trusted and then apply and ok.After that you can download with your idm or else you can change the name of the idm application into idm2.exe .
    other antivirus users please refer toy your manual
    and if you don't use any antivirus ,then quite simple to do.!

    remove the software with for example iobit uninstaller so that it clears everything related to the software. the registry and hard drive entries as well and then reinstall. that should fix it.
    if the issue persists update or try to use a different browser.

    Previously i used to work fine but some of the previous versions are not working on you tube if you want to download direct video.......
    I think it will soon be fixed by the IDM developers.......
    Just keep upgrading to the latest version.........
    If you want to download very urgently then I would like to suggest you to use websites like keepvid.com and savevid.com

    Is that the newest version of IDM? Did it work smoothly before?
    Do you continuing a download you paused?
    Sometimes IDM has trouble continuing after being paused when downloading from YouTube. Try refreshing the link or restart the download.

    If you insist on continue using IDM, then I would suggest you to properly uninstall the software through Control Panel and then remove all the registry references with a registry cleaner like ccleaner and then reboot and do a fresh install again and give it a shot.

    However, if you are open to other alternatives which does similar work, I can suggest three very good ones and they are all free :

    Free Download Manager - > http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/

    Freemake Video Downloader -> http://www.freemake.com/free_video_downloader/

    FVD Suite (Suite of lot of products including downloader) -> http://fvdsuite.com/
