May 28, 2012What error messages are associated with these updates? Look at the update history for failure notifications and note the error number for each one. Without these error codes, any response here would be mere speculation.

May 28, 2012before installing find out if the above two are listed in programs, if yes uninstall

sometime when uninstalling will give you option repair so try this first.

May 28, 2012I uninstalled silverlight and when i tried to re-install it it gave me an error which meant my windows system variables were wrong so I fixed that and all went ok.
