Why does my Windows XP laptop turn on automatically when I connect the power supply?

My HP DV 2025 TU model laptop starts automatically as soon as I switch on power supply from power adapter.

As my battery is totally gone I always need to start from power supply with power adapter.

OS: Windows XP SP3

BIOS: F.39

You need to check your BIOS. When booting up your computer you should see very briefly the manufacturers logo and some text that says to hit a F-Key (usually F2 or F12) to enter the BIOS or Setup and you can check all of that there.

Have you changed your BIOS settings to power up on WAN or LAN?

did you checked if something is wrong with the power button, which possibly is always on ON?
