Why can’t I send ebooks from Mobi reader to Kindle?

Way back in the Palm/Mobipocket days I got about 200 ebooks that I purchased and I synced the books with the Palm’s PID. Now I have the desktop mobi reader leftover that I use for the 75 ebooks that cannot “send to kindle”. I cannot figure out if the issue is the encryption of the ebook, the PID of the kindle-which I cannot figure out or perhaps the prc. format. My laptop is dying and I have to get these ebooks outta here.

I appreciate your feedback, Thank you!

It might be DRM, but it might not be. Try importing the files into Calibre and sending them to your Kindle using that – might do the trick.

You might want to do this on another computer, if the old one is dying...probably a good idea to back up those ebooks anyway.

I think these books are DRM enabled.

Read this article or various ebook formats and fallacies of DRM : http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/askjack/2011/sep/15/ebook-format-drm-kindle

Solution is first go to the Adobe site and create a free Adobe ID. Then go to http://www.sirenbookstrand.com/customers/secureformats.htm and check the question marked How do I add DRM protected eBooks to my Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD? and How do I add DRM protected eBooks to my Android?

Only unprotected or non-DRM MOBI files are supported on the Kindle
