I have a website which I have hosted on xtreemhost.com. I also have a free sub-domain which I have got from freedns.afraid.org.
After registration I set up a Google Webmaster account to submit my website and track its progress, but I am getting a problem. Google is giving me an error, saying that “Google couldn’t access your site because of a DNS error”.
My Google Analytics account is working fine. My website is not getting indexed on search engines even though its quite well-optimized in terms of SEO.
I would like to know why is this error of DNS showing up. The website in question is: www.padutirupathi.us.to

May 31, 2012Make sure you add both http://www.padutirupathi.us.to/ and http://padutirupathi.us.to/ (without www.) to webmaster tools. If it’s still not working, it may be just that the DNS servers haven’t updated. DNS changes usually take no more than 30 minutes, but can take up to 48 hours.
Hope this helps.

June 1, 2012It seems that your website does resolve from me but it might not yet on all DNS servers. I would try again at a later time and see what happens. If you still have problems update this page and maybe we can help you.

June 2, 2012dear friends, what I did was I found a website known as http://www.whatsmydns.net.
on this website I tried testing both my website URLs, with WWW(http://www.padutirupathi.us.to/) and without WWW(http://padutirupathi.us.to/).
I got errors with http://www.padutirupathi.us.to/ but I didn’t get errors with http://padutirupathi.us.to/. So I will be using the URL without ‘WWW’ in my webmaster account and hope the DNS error will not happen again. I will update more on this issue at a later time.
I am curious about how do you can solve the problem. I am facing that problem too.
Searching and reading many pages doesn’t give me any hints.
My website is up but google cannot fetch it.
I am also using *.us.to.
waiting for your experience …
June 20, 2012I solved it by sending an email to the afraid.org(my sub-domain host) asking them to enable my account and my url to be allowed access by google and to allow google to index my website.
I suggest you send an email to “dnsadmin@afraid.org” and include your URL of your website and ask them kindly to transfer your URL to their google enabled DNS server. Also once they enable your site for google there will be a small blue G icon displayed in front of your URL.
