Why are the files still there after I formatted my mini SD card?

I formated my SD using the traditional way – right click then format, the operation completed but the files are still there! Why? Will formatting with the command line help?

Thanks in advance.

formating just form the sectors and allow the files to be replace with new files.use "Delete Doctor" or low level formaters.

those might be the default/system files required for a pendrive.Yes sometimes there may also be virus files. These can be deleted by a small utility called unlocker.

Firstly, scan your SD card with antivirus software to check if it has virus or not. Then if it doesn't have virus, check if it's write protected or read only. You can usually check whether it's read only or not by right clicking on SD card and see the checkbox option of Read only.
