Why are apps on my SD card not shown in Android app menu?

Maaz Hafeez asks:

My phone runs Android 2.3.6. An app transferred to SD card does not appear in apps menu when phone is re-started. The menu shows or displays only those apps in the phone memory.

Put your sd into a computer, move the app into a different location, or rename it, and that might help

Some apps don’t work so well or at all if they’re moved to the SD card.

how did you transferred the app to sd card, do you have other apps on sd card and they appear in apps menu?

perhaps the sd card is corrupted and need to be format.

Use the free apps App2SD from the Google Play Store, it shows the list of moveable apps, list of apps that cannot be moved, list of apps in ext. SD. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hMHNvZnQuZ3Bob25lLmFwcDJzZCJd

use the sychronization software “free mobile helper” , Free Mobile Helper allows Windows PC based users to seamlessly control and sync their Android/Ios mobile device.
All the files will be shown through this software.

Android app menu will show only installed apps. Install it first if uninstalled. If that doesn’t work, re mount your SD card. If it still doesn’t work, move it to another directory and retry.
