Which Linux distro is best for networking and server use?

Dhaval Kaneriya asks:

I am using Windows 8 and I want to use Linux on a virtual machine for networking and server duties, so both operating systems run simultaneously.

Which Linux distribution is best for networking tasks and server usage, and will it work from a VM?

Best linux distro for server use is Red hat enterprise since all linux version can handle networking vary easily you can use red hat enterprise for networking also.

But if you want special services for networking the most known linux distro is Novall linux they have special service called Novall netware which support networking features.

CentOS
It is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and it’s quite popular
So it should be pretty easy to look for solutions and tutorials online

good old stable Debian will do it, but you can choose the one you like … ubuntu will be a little easier to use …
Red Hat will also do the job … but I don´t like the way of Red Hat ;)

That´s the good on Linux … choose what you want, ´cause the fundament is always the same ;)
