Which file extensions are supported by the Symbian S40 mobile operating system?

But you haven’t mentioned what type of file you are referring to. If you are referring to apps then i think it will take .jar files. if you are referring to music then it will play mp3, wav (not sure), etc. and if you are referring to videos then it will play mp4 and may be some of the other video files.

Symbian S40 phones supports Java apps with ,jar extension and MP3 music files, you can play 3gp videos and .jpeg for images and .gif.

media codes of XviD/MP4/H.264/H.263/WMV
MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ has been included though hd videos may laag
and .jar /.jad are also supported
with other programms document files will also be supported
and s40 is not symbian os

The Media player is supporting MP3, MP4, WMA, AAC, AAC+, enhanced AAC+, H.263, and H.264.

Symbian S40 has Symbian Installation System (.sis) and Java (.jar) as specific file system.
