What websites can I use to live stream music gigs for free?

I have been told that UStream.tv is a site I can use to live stream my band’s gigs on, but when I went to use it, I found it was awful quality and everything was covered in adverts. I wanted to check if there are any websites out there which are set up to enable bands to perform online, which are better quality?

Hi thanks for all the feedback guys. Really interesting ideas. I had heard of a lot of the sites you say, I am now about to check out the others I haven't heard of.

It's basically really useful market research for me to find what competitors Justjamit has. I still can't find a live music streaming site which is as good quality as http://www.justjamit.com - which is really good to see!

Or you could try CDNs like Max CDN if you're willing to pay.

If you want to stream them to other people on the internet the 2 that are quite good are -
    Justin Tv - http://www.justin.tv/ and
    Veetle Tv - http://veetle.com/

Also great for watching what others are broadcasting great sites.

If you are using Google Chrome, you can go to http://www.baidu.com. It is in Chinese, but you can stream and download for free.

If you want to stream live videos, there is always youtube!
If I'm not wrong ustream, streams video too!
But if you don't want to stream video, you can always disable the video when you stream with youtube! If you are a promoter, you can use wirecast for youtube! But wirecast come with an option to choose other sites to stream!
So please, check wirecast, and wirecast for youtube! Maybe they will help you!

Why don't try Spotify? It's highly acclaimed. Or SoundCloud.
