What software can convert a video file so that it will play from a CD?

Ashwin Divakaran asks:

I want to play movies via a CD and I cant the software required to convert a .mkv file into a format playable on a DVD Player.I would like to remind you that I am using a CD ROM not a DVD.

Use DVD Flick 1.3.0.7 from http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD-Flick

use any dvd converter , total video converter, youtube converter etc Any DVD conv is the best
