What map app for Android can provide navigation for rail routes?

I use Google Maps extensively on my Android Phone and am very satisfied with it. However, there is a small limitation. When I want to navigate from one location to another, I only get car route, bus route and walk route. Unfortunately, I do not get an option for rail route. Though it is not a limitation of Google Maps, as simply such feature does not exist currently with them, I am interested to know, is there any solution available for train routes also to be shown in a mapping app.

It depends on the area in which you live in, but the Train transit option had been available since 2011. http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2011/07/google-maps-for-android-adds-transit-navigation/ When you search for directions, there is an icon for car, bus (transit option in which there is a list of different types including any transit type, bus, subway, train, and tram/light railway), cycling, and walking. As far as any other options for railway navigation, I haven't really heard of or really seen another.

Oh WOW!!! I was not aware of it at all. I thought the bus icon only meant bus routes. Now after tapping it, I get whole lot of options. Till date I was actually only using the car route. The best part is my City of Joy, Kolkata is extensively covered for Kolkata Metro, KMRC, Eastern Railway, CSTC, CTC. The whole list of cities are mentioned here : https://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/transit/text.html#as . Thanks a ton again.
