Laura Mosher asks:
I bought my son an HP nx5000 Compaq but it has no hard drive in it. I’ve been researching hard drives and the SDD ones seem to be all that but I am not sure if they would work in an older model laptop.
How can I find out what hard drive limitations a laptop notebook or netbook have on them?

this laptop can support upto 60GB at 5,400 rpm speed hot swappable HDD.
Since the OS present inside it is Windows XP or Windows 2000,it’s better not to get SSD as the OS is not optimized to use it and your SSD performance would degrade very fast.
SSDs runs well in Windows 7 and 8 and they require high speed RAM for optimal performance. There is no driver support for Windows 7 or 8 for this laptop.
