What is the best free alternative to Filemaker Pro 12?

Ales Mole asks:

I want to create a program / database for a hair studio. I found a great piece of software called Filemaker Pro 12, but it’s expensive. Is there a free alternative? It should have a nice GUI that makes the program easy to learn.

Some of your options are: LibreOffice or OpenOffice Base, Kexi, and Glom.

I don’t think glom works correctly with other formats except its own PostgreSQL format…
