shaghayegh mm asks:
I’m kinda ignorant about brands and prices and special qualities of each motherboard. I’m going to buy a PC and I work with graphics and video editing programs quite a lot. Now I need to know which motherboard I should go for? F1A75-V or P8P68 or completely something else?
Also I need to know what kind of CPU is appropriate for my tasks, what kind of core? and also which CPU has the best overclocking for an inexperienced-user about hardware.
And do you think I should spend too much on Nvidia GTX 680? Or I can try something cheaper?
I really need some advice. Thank you all in advance!

June 10, 2012there is a test here on overclocking corei7 processor, you can use their configuration for your system

if you will be heavy user sure best to be on safe side and have Nvidia GTX 680.

June 10, 2012It really depends on your budget, but you can get good advice by joining a forum like Aria who sell the hardware and asking them for advice.

June 11, 2012For motherboards,Asus is the best.Your motherboard choice will differ as you chose your GPU as not all motherboards are capable of fitting large GPUs and provide space for other components.
For GPU you can go with Nvidia or AMD’s high end counterparts and Nvidia’s GTX 670 has 192 less CUDA cores than GTX 680 which will definitely have an impact on performance difference between the two cards.XFX 7950 Black Edition is the best for AMD based GPU.
For processor,Intel core i5 3570K must be minimum. It’s a mid range product that bridges the gap between low and high end processor of Intel’s core processors and have mix of some high end features.

June 13, 2012you don’t need gtx 680 at all, it is mainly built for gaming…. go with nice i7, nice motherboard (don’t be cheap here) 16bg ram and that is it… 580 or 570 are much better if you want to go with nvidia, or simply go with ati hd 7950 although i think it is still overkilll.. 78xx would be much better or even 77**…

September 7, 2012Okay, I have a couple ideas for you. If you’re building it yourself, which I suggest, then you should get a better idea of what I’m about to say. Really, this is for other people who reach this site, as it is the first thing to come up on google.
For video editing, you want as many cores as possible running. Intel has an i7 series of processors that support hyperthreading, which means its 4 cores run as 8 cores. For video games, that many cores is useless, since they’re designed for consoles which use almost no CPU power, mostly GPU. So, for video games, you want the most power per core, like the i5 series or AMD’s Phenom II, while in video editing, benchmarking, or multitasking, you want as many cores as possible because they will utilize all 8 or however many at once.
Since you will be doing web editing and video editing, I suggest to get a motherboard which has either an AM3/AM3+ socket, such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128514, which is a Gigabyte board and works for the FX series. You would want the FX-8150, which is 8 cores. It will multitask like a beast, and edit and convert videos in a snap. You can also overclock with this board and this CPU relatively easily.
You could also try an Intel board, with a LGA 1155 socket. I prefer ASUS. Get Sandy Bridge architecture for the higher OC, maybe something like an i7-3770k, which will destroy the FX AMD processor I mentioned before. This route will be more expensive, but it should be very quality for you. Also, make sure to get an aftermarket cooler if you want to OC. At least get the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ EVO, but really, I think closed water loop is the best bang for your buck right now. I use the Antec Kuler H620 and I think that it is a beast. I have an Ivy Bridge CPU OC’ed to constant 4.6Ghz, up from 3.4, and it barely runs over 60C in full load testing. Ivy Bridge is usually HOT. So go with Sandy.
