What’s the best web host for a WordPress site?

I’m experiencing some problems with my web-hosting lately and now I want to change it. Any ideas which web-hosting is the best for WordPress based site? I don’t want to use WordPress hosting because I plan for a forum.

My website has low traffic so what is the appropriate package to buy for a site having on average 600 daily traffic?

I also use about 20 plug-ins, my site never uses more than 500 MB of memory at once.

I use Bluehost. Have been using it for a few years now, completely satisfied, site went down once in 4-5 years. I [used to] get about 1.5k unique visitors every Friday before I shut the site down but yea, they will be able to handle your traffic.

After several disappointments I decided to go with Linux Hosts Ltd which can be found at the homepage of the company Best Inexpensive Web Hosting Ltd in the UK. This happened a few years ago. For me there's no better host on earth.

I would suggest SiteGround and Bluehost!
But the one I prefer & recommend you is SiteGround!

thanks erlis. i will look into that. hope it wont disappoint like siteground. But will it be enough for 500 on avg traffic? i just counted my plugins. I'm using around 20. Maybe in future i do get some more. Any impact of that?

DreamHost works fine. It is the best host available according to me.
The second one i would prefer is FatCow, it is the cheapest and the best available according to me.

There are still more best hosts,

    http://www.inmotionhosting.com/ -- Rated Best
http://rackspace.com -- WordPress in the cloud
    http://greengeeks.com -- Free Lifetime Domain
    http://fatcow.com -- Cheapest available
    http://dreamhost.com -- Good Service

I would dreamhost first, rackspace next, fatcow the next.

If your revenues can afford it, go for a VPS server; I use http://www.mediatemple.net ($50/month), and they are superb - very fast, good support, good tutorials - and you get the whole (virtual) server to mess around and do as you wish. Furthermore, you host as many sites as you like - up to 100 domains - which gives you lots of room to experiment with other sites and learn your way around web programming.

yes james but for traffic of 600 on avg should i be buying a VPS? there isn't much revenue you know. The one i have right now has a lot of problem connecting so if i shift to some other webhosting will they be able to provide better service on a shared hosting? I cant afford a VPS right now and i think don't need it right now either as the traffic is too low for a VPS.

I use Dreamhost and haven't had any problems with them. They offer unlimited storage space, databases, and bandwidth as long as it's for your website. You could also look into Hostgator, Bluehost, and A Small Orange. For something more advanced (A VPS you set up) check out Linode.

Dreamhost is 11.95/month, or less if you commit to a longer period of time (1-2 years)
