Thanks. Actually this question was asked after being aware of this news in blogs. Please tell , What can the database be used for? Would removing number or deleting account , post-hack prevent the negative user impact?

The database cannot be used for anything. The hackers were able to access 'tokens', which was immediately reset. A 'token' is a unique lock for each user, but what the attackers did not acquire is the needed key, which has also been reset.

Thanks. In the scenario that user numbers are hacked , then how can the privacy or security of users get compromised? For eg., promos received? or what else?

I don't think Truecaller stores any other information other than your phone number...and anyone can search the database for your number.
