How can I watch movies from my PC on my TV with Plex?

I feel like such an idiot. I want to download movies onto my PC and watch them on my TV. I’m told I need Plex. I have downloaded Plex onto my LG TV, and I have downloaded it onto my PC.

Looking at a “how to guide” I’m told to go to the “preferences”… NONE of the icons on the home screen are working. I have nothing. I move my cursor to preferences and nada, I move it to “movies” – once again nada. I’m not real computer savvy, but I’m giving it a go.

On your PC, make sure you have the location of your movies linked with Plex. Once you have that linked your LG TV should find the movies. When you add movies to Plex directories make sure to refresh it or they will not show up on your TV.

    Plex has two parts:
The Plex Media Center ~ which is probably what you downloaded on your TV*
The Plex Media Server ~ which you will have to install and configure on your PC

    * think it's called LG Media LINK

Once you have Plex Media Server installed you need to fill its library with your files (movies, ...).
