Jessica asks:
We recently purchased a new Samsung TV with a USB port in the back. We wanted to watch movies off our external hard drive on the TV (they are .avi files). When the hard drive is plugged into the TV, it can’t read any movies, it says there aren’t any on it. Any idea what I can do to view off of it?

November 30, 2011Hello, by default external hard drive has to be fat32 formatted. Mind you, there are some TVs that accept input from NTFS formatted external hard drives.

January 26, 2012Jessica, I sympothise! I purchased a Samsung TV – making sure that it had a USB port just so that I could watch movies from a USB key – but as you are saying – the TV does not see them. Have you found a work around?
