Bernice Robinson asks:
I have a ViewSonic G70 MB, Model# VCDTS23104-2M, input 100-240V AC. 50/60HZ.
My monitor has built-in speakers. Now I can not hear anything. I am running Windows XP Professional. What program do I need to download to fix this issue?

July 18, 2012Check the sound icon in the notification area to ensure it is not muted. If the sound icon is not there, open the Device Manager and check for problems with your sound device.
Check your cables are properly connected and that nothing has come loose or been disconnected.
Check the volume control on the monitor itself.
If you have external speakers, you can connect them to the computer to find out if the problem lies with the computer or the monitor. If your computer has a headphone jack on the front panel and you have a set of headphones, you can plug them in, change the output channel to the headphones (using the mixer, accessed by clicking on the speaker icon in the notification area), and ensuring you hear audio through them. If the speakers or headphones work, the problem is with the monitor, not the computer itself.

July 19, 20121. Check the cable if it is connected properly
2. In Device Manager (Start -> Right click on my computer -> properties-> hardware -> device manager)
3. Under Sound, Video and Game controllers, check if the device is detectable.
4. Try to install the newest driver of your monitor and its speaker
If you have an earphone, try to plug it into your computer and see whether it is working or not. If not, then may be your PC sound jack has a problem

July 22, 2012Try the above suggestions to see if they help, but also see if the settings on the monitor itself changed in the volume settings.
