Imar Dela cruz asks:
How can I open folders that have been force-hidden by my hard drive? I have unchecked the hide folder option but they still don’t appear, I can’t view my files but my PC says that the folders are still taking up space on the drive.
Browser: Chrome 20

June 29, 2012Maybe those folders are protected by OS. If so, uncheck “Hide protected operating system files” option (though Windows recommends to keep it checked).
Would be a good ideea to give us more details…

June 29, 2012You can use WinRAR archiver or 7-Zip to view those files.
Use them to browse your hard drive, all files [hidden / system] can be viewed.
I use them when viruses / trojans hide your files and ceate their own folder inside.

June 29, 2012The files may be protected files or or “hidden” by a means other than windows hidden file system

June 29, 2012Were the files on a seperate partition? if they were, can you see the partition.
Click on Start then right click on ‘Computer’
Click on Manage then Disk Management.
If you see a drive/partition without a drive letter assigned to it (except for the windows 7 reserved partition which is only 100MB) right click on it and assign a letter.
If this was the case you should see your files.

June 30, 2012Hello, has your computer being acting up lately? I would first start by scanning your drive for malware/virus. Either of them can cause this.

July 4, 2012That may be due to a virus. I had such a virus on my pendrive. Use the software “USB Show” (http://ldc.mx/usbshow.php) The software will find and unhide all the folders.
