Why do videos downloaded from YouTube have a small frame size?

Rohit Makkar asks:

I downloaded some videos from YouTube. I have “Download Helper” and “Best Video Downloader” add-ons installed.

Any video that I download is downloaded at very small frame size, like a little box. I don’t mean a specific video, the problem is with any video that I download.

I tried both of them. I informed them about this, but no response is given by them. Is this a browser issue? This problem has been occurring for 2 days.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/

You can select and download all the available display qualities.
Do you have this addon called video download helper ? use it if not.

Try DAP manager.

If the result is still the same, then it may be a browser issue.
or you just need to restart/refresh browser or pc ? browser ,
or just reinstall the addon.

Hi, Here is the manual
http://www.downloadhelper.net/manual.php
http://www.downloadhelper.net/conversion-manual.php
check video conversion guide and see if there is quality option to increase the video frame size.

also possible you have codec problems on windows, may be this is why you see small screen? do you have small screen size problem with other good quality video files?

Hi ha14, this problem is occurring 5 or 6 days before. Do you know what is the default “Video Size” in Windows Media Player,i.e. 50%, 100% or 200%. I am asking this because when i downloaded a video and play it in VLC Media Player, no such problem happens.

well on my windows media player video is set to 100%. My guess is that somehow your WMP is corrupted so you have to fix it. Uninstall VLC then you can try this microsoft fix it
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic
reboot and play a video and see if this fix the problem, if yes you can reinstall VLC

let me know if this help you.

I wouldn’t recommend Internet Download Manager as there are a number of free alternatives around.
