What is Usenet?
Is it something like BitTorrent?
I heard that it is faster and much better than BitTorrent, is this true?

Here is the best definition you will find: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usenet

It is basically 80's style internet, very basic and rough. Your download speed will be similar to a regular web download.

Be very careful with this side of the web, there are thing hidden there that you probably do not want see. If you are in the US, be careful because alot of USENET is monitored, it is where alot of internet crime happens.
