Most debit cards can be used just like a credit card for online purchases.

I second Bruce’s comment. Your debit card should work just fine.

If it is the case, go buy the Original DVD from a dealer. However, it might be more cheaper and convenient to do the upgrade online.

well pre-paid debit cards are accepted from supported payment types such as Visa or MasterCard.
http://windowsupgradeoffer.com/en-US/Home/Faq
To use a pre-paid card, select Credit Card as the payment method and complete the rest of the information to submit your order.

you can only pay with the methods accepted by microsoft if purchase made from their site, unless you buy retail Windows 8 from shop or other you have to follow their rules.

I have two debit cards.. With one I can buy online, and with one not! This is because, only one bank offers the option to buy online with your debit card! In other words, you better go to your bank, and ask if you can do online purchases or not!

No Indian debit card works on Windows site or paypal site. So the best option is to use entropay. But you can create a virtual credit card from entropay using your Indian debit card and then use that virtual credit for payment. I bought windows 8 using entropay, since none of my bank debit cards were working. But there is a minimum amount: you should recharge the entropay card with minimum $20..you can use the rest elsewhere..

is entropay is safe?

Are pre-paid debit cards accepted?
Yes, pre-paid debit cards are accepted from supported payment types such as Visa or MasterCard. The cards must also be ecommerce enabled for online purchases, capable of cross-currency transactions or purchasing in foreign currency and do not require a pin to complete transactions. Only one form of payment can be used to complete the purchase. Ensure that your card covers the price of the download, the optional upgrade DVD, shipping and handling and applicable taxes. Some cards may also be subject to pre-paid card fees which vary by provider. We recommend that you acquire the card in the country in which you intend to purchase Windows 8 and that you retain the card after your purchase. In case of return or refund, the amount of the refund will be added back to the card used to purchase Windows 8.
How do I use a pre-paid debit card?
