How do I know whether I need to update AIM for Windows?

So, I have the newest AIM messenger. I was wondering how you update it. I haven’t seen any updates for it, and was wondering how you can tell if there is an update or not. Does anyone know if the new AIM has silent updates because I don’t even see an option to update it?

if you go to filehippo
http://www.filehippo.com/fr/download_aim/
you will always find the latest versions available so just check with yours and proceed.

i think the updater should be somwhere in this path
X:\Program Files\AIM\services\softwareUpdate
click on it and see what the message

This is what the AIM EULA says:
“You may be given the opportunity to choose whether you want all Updates delivered automatically or you would prefer to be notified when a new Update is ready to be installed, or we make such Updates available for download. You authorize us to deliver automatically any Update if we believe it is necessary to provide for the continued functionality of the Software.”

Since you were not given any option to select my understanding is that updates may be installed automatically or you may receive a notification when an update was issued.
