I have ESET NOD 32 Antivirus 4.0 business edition, which I want to uninstall. However, there is no remove/uninstall button with its name in Windows XP’s add/remove programs.
So I ran its setup exe file where I found an icon for removal, but during removal it gives this error:
‘Another application has exclusive access to the file ‘C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\Logs\virlog.dat’. Please shut down all other applications, then click Retry.’
I restarted the PC, but this keeps on happening. Then I terminated all processes related to ESET NOD 32 in Windows task manager, especially the ‘ekrn.exe’ process, which I think is related to this antivirus.
Still I am getting this error and I am not able to uninstall it. Tell me what to do.

February 17, 2011Osama,
we had a similar question before. The recommendation that helped was to use a dedicated uninstaller software like Revo Uninstaller or IObit.
You might also want to try and uninstall from Windows Safe Mode!
Good luck!
