Is Ubuntu 12.04 available for 64-bit machines?

I want to download ubuntu 12.04 for my 64-bit machine. Is ubuntu 12.04 available for 64-bit machines? If yes, how and from where should I download? Otherwise which is next best OS?

It certainly is!

You can get it from the standard Ubuntu download page: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

Click the “Choose your flavor” box on the page and select 64-bit.

Is that for intel processor? The size given there is 698MB is that correct?

Yes! Both 32 and 64 bit Ubuntu is published to the Ubuntu website and available for download. Give it a try!

On that page click the dropdown and select 64bit.

Linux had 64bit years before Microsoft did. Most distros have a 64bit version along side the 32bit. I’d venture a guess that there are almost NO distros that don’t offer a 64bit version.
