My iPhone fell and its screen is broken. Now I can’t slide the screen to unlock it or switch the phone off. I tried to rest by pressing home+power button but that doesn’t work. Is there any way to turn it off?

let the battery to drain or  you can crash it by pressing and holding the 'lock' button and the 'home' button

You can perform surgery on the iPhone and remove the battery. Be careful, since it's still on be sure that you're grounded. This isn't recommended, so you can let it drain instead. I think the battery only holds about a week's worth of charge anyway.

Well, that or give it another good chuck across the room. That'll do it ;)
