How can I turn CheckDisk ON on booting Windows XP?

Osama asks:

My Windows XP SP2 never runs a CheckDisk scan after a reset button pressed or booting after sudden power failure. It just starts without checking the disks for potential errors. This started happening few months back. I don’t know what happened and how to turn it back on. Can anyone tell me how to turn it back on?

Osama, you could try to set CHKDSK back to default settings. Press [WINDOWS] + [R] and the run prompt will open. Type in > cmd and hit enter. To reset your CHKDSK to default, type ‘chkntfs /D’ (without quotes) and hit enter.More details here: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/chkdsk.mspx?mfr=true
