1)Connect PC to your Kindle with the USB cable.

2) Navigate to the Kindle device and find the folder Documents. This is where you will place your eBooks to be read on your Kindle. copy over your files

if the Books are DRM protected

Hello, here is a possible way of doing it.  Probably it would be better to transfer files from CD to computer first.

Using freeware kindle sync:
http://download.dkszone.net/transfer-ebooks-from-pc-to-amazon

Here is how it should work:

– connect kindle to computer
– click on computer/my computer and you should see a new drive for kindle
– open that drive by double clicking on it.  You should see three different folders there:

Documents (newspapers, books, etc)
Audibles (audiobooks)
Music (mp3 files)

– as long as the ebooks are in the formats below, it is just a matter of copy/pasting or dragging and dropping files from one drive to to a folder in another:
Kindle with extension .azwText with extension .txtUnprotected Mobipocket with extensions .mobi and .prcAudible with extension .asamp3 with extension .mp3

– once copy/paste or drag and drop is finished, disconnect your kindle
– turn kindle off
– turn kindle back on and your ebooks should be there

Use calibre software -

Even if the books are not in format of Kindle it can convert them to be compatible with it.
